Luca Golf Tournament

Luca Gruszka is an 8-year-old fighting cancer.

He was diagnosed with leukemia on December 12, 2016. Luca is the grandson of Michael and Laura Saracino, owners of Bartolino’s Restaurant.

Here is a brief note from Luca’s parents, Angela and Jared Gruszka:

“Luca loves all things that most boys do: Legos, Paw Patrol, joke books, pizza and chicken fingers! He is by all accounts a normal kid. The cancer is in his bones, lungs, kidneys and beyond. While at Children’s Hospital in St. Louis for treatment, he has quickly worked his way into the hearts of the doctors and nurses with his infectious laugh, constant joke telling, sweet manners and high spirits. He is a champ! He is doing everything the doctors and nurses tell him to do and he does it with a smile and grace. This charming fighter knows that lots of exercising, resting and eating are what will keep his body strong to fight this disease. Your love and support will make him even stronger.”

A small group of friends have formed the Luca Foundation. Their goal is to raise money to help Luca’s parents and other families with young children facing a major health diagnosis. By raising funds to offset their financial burdens, we can help parents focus on what matters most—their child’s emotional and physical well being.

Our first fundraising event—Tee it up for Luca— is planned for October 3, 2017 at Tapawingo Golf Club. All proceeds will be used for Luca as well as a charity still to be identified. We hope you will help by being a sponsor. If you are interested in being a sponsor, you can review the sponsorship opportunities and benefits. Please make all checks payable to: “Love from Luca, LLC” and mail to: Luca Foundation, 3311 Chouteau Ave., St. Louis, MO 63103.

More information about signing up to golf in the tournament will be coming soon; cost will be around $160/golfer.
