THE HEAT IS ON! – Week 14 Review

The temperature is on the rise and so is the action in Coot’s standings.  After a rain-shortened Week 13, Coot’s guys were greeted with mid-90-degree temperatures and HIGH humidity for the front nine at Quail. Al Keller & Garry Byrd each had the low-scratch-score of the night with their one-over-par-37.  Garry also had the low-net-score …

Yes, it was warm (90º).  Yes, it was humid.  Yes, play was scheduled for the dreaded back-9.  But, all day long it was a pretty decent day for golf. So here we were, feeling lucky on 7-7-11 (as in 61* in ’61), and ready for a great night of golf.  Coot’s guys got started.  Several …

Flirtin’ with History…Again – Week 9 Review

Sunny, humid, dry, and 90º – the perfect setting for near record-breaking golf…again!  Just a week after setting the league record for low stroke average (42.7), Coot’s guys gave that record a run-for-the-money.  The stroke average this week was a lowly 43.7.  Amazing what a couple weeks of rain-free golf can do for the guys! …

New Week, Same Weather – Week 7 Review

Another week, more rain.  Now, for the first time in some weeks, it wasn’t a total rainfall the entire night of golf.  But, after days of mid-80s temps, Coot’s guys were greeted with a cool 55° and drizzle.  Combine that with play on the dreaded back-nine, and you have record-bad golf for Coot’s league.
