Brutal Conditions To Start #34 – Week 1 Recap

If Chicago thinks they’re the only Windy City out there, then they weren’t there for Coot’s guys to kick off the 34th season. If the pandemic-caused restrictions and limitations weren’t bad enough, the conditions were brutal for the guys to get things back up and running for the new season.

So, except for a few guys, scores were up. Two guys carded low-scratch scores on the night: JOE SONDERMAN (39) & CHAD LARKOWSKI (40). There were no low-net scores to report, thanks to the conditions.

That didn’t prevent a couple of guys from making progress on the Milestone Watch. TIM SARGENT got #148 and DAVE COOPER got his name added to the watch list with the 145th win of his career. Meanwhile, BRUCE THOMAS & DAVE HARTE grabbed the first closest-to-the-pin honors of the season.

As we start a new season, we have a few new guys and a few old guys who need reminders of the features available to you on the website each week:

• Your latest handicap is available after each week of golf; you can check it as you arrive at the course every Thursday.
• The team standings are always available on the site, throughout the season.
• Forgot who got the closest-to-the-pin honors week-to-week? You can see that there, too!
• You can keep updated on the league schedule.
• You can even go back and see what you scored on any given week.

And…please say you’ve already liked our Facebook page!! That’s all just a taste of what is there on a weekly basis. But…since it’s creation in 2008, the website has evolved with lots of great content…spend some time checking it out!

ON A SERIOUS NOTE: the Stay-at-Home Order might take place with the Coot Brown Golf League if we don’t take notice of a few rules:

• No OUTSIDE beer or liquor is to be brought to the course, carts, or even the parking lot.
• MINIMIZE the amount of time out in the parking lot.
• Bags of beer & sandwiches can be purchased in the CLUBHOUSE.
