#30 with #150 – Week 4 Recap

After a controversial (well, controversial according to some lawyers) rainout of Week 3…Week 4 play happened before Week 3. It was an overcast afternoon with cool temps, a slight breeze, and a threat of rain throughout the round on the Meramec course.

All that said…WHAT A NIGHT FOR LOW SCORES!

There were 11 Cooters with sub-40 scores turned in and only 2 over 50! Leading the way was an even-par-36, carded by NUBBY himself. The low net score of the night came from GREG GILLICK (40/29) and DEREK STEPHENS has an early jump on the “Sey Tuff Guy” award after shaving 4 strokes off his handicap after his second 42 of the season.

After Week 2’s 46.7, Week 3 was the lowest league stroke average of the young season at 43.3 (Week 1 was 43.4).

JEFF POHRER, fresh off his 300th victory of his career, brought home one of the closest to prizes on the night; TIM SARGENT had the other.

Also on the Milestone Watch, MARTY YANICS became the 30th member of the 150 Win Club! The Watch now has just 1 member, PAUL HILLYARD, seeking his next milestone of 200 wins.

CONGRATULATIONS MARTY!

The top 6 spots are getting bunched up in the standings with SOUTHSIDE MACHINE on top by 1.5 points and GILLICK BRICKWORK in 8th place after getting all 10 points on the night.

That sets us up for the match of the week on Tuesday’s Week 3 reschedule between SOUTHSIDE MACHINE and PAUL THE PAINTER, separated by just 2.5 points.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE UGLY:
THE GOOD: No rain out!
THE BAD: No rain last Thursday!
THE UGLY: Slow play! Speed it up please!

“This Tuesday is Week #3 league and team scheduling. If anybody needs a sub, please holler!”
