Dennis Bowers Beat CD Longo By 16 Strokes – Week 12 Recap

It was 95 degrees with very little breeze. But Coot’s guys brought the Meramec to its knees and there was lots of action to start the second half of the season!

GILLICK BRICKWORK jumped out to the early lead by taking 8 points from K.G. ELECTRIC, INC. Don’t crown them champs just yet though – there are 3 teams right behind them with 7 points with lots of scoring left to go!

After battling the Woodlands last week, there were come Cooters who were clearly very happy to see the Meramec this week. 5 guys has sub-40 rounds – and 4 of those 5 were under par! Not to be forgotten were 5 more Cooters at 40. All this scoring led to a league stroke average of 44.1, not quite a record (42.7 on 6/2/11), but a great night nonetheless.

Speaking of “check the record books”, the low net score of the night was TONY SMITH‘s 23 (35)…really good, but still not better than DOUG WERNER‘s 20 back in 2019!

DENNIS BOWERS had the low scratch score on the night with his 2-under 34…which set him up to beat CD LONGO by a whopping 16 strokes.

Not to be outdone, ROB GAYLORD became the 32nd member of the 150 Win Club.

The closest to prizes went to MEL STORTZUM and ROLAND LAURY.
