“Maybe Next Year” – Week 11 Recap

Cart-Path-OnlyIt was 75-degrees with overcast skies…but…NO RAIN!  It was actually rather pleasant on Week 11, especially given what it’s been like all summer with the rain.

Coot’s guys got to tackle the front-9 with wet conditions and cart-path-only restrictions, but, that didn’t bother SOUTHSIDE MACHINE.

Through 2 weeks of the second half, SOUTHSIDE MACHINE has taken 17 out of a possible 20 points and are fast out of the gates, looking for a second half title!  If they could finish the race, they’d be set up to make a run at the league title for the first time since 2001 (their only win in league history).

The Milestone Watch was very active on the night!  Leading the way was STEVE MINIEX who got his 100th career victory to become the 37th player to join that club!

CONGRATULATIONS STEVE!

MATT GAGNEPAIN also inched a bit closer with career victory #149 (1 to go to the 150-Win Club).  A couple of guys were added to The Watch on the week as well: BOB HAEGELE got #95 and league-wins-leader, JEFF POHRER is now officially on The Watch after getting #245 on Week 11.  Jeff is looking to be the first to join the 250 Victory Club!

The Player Records page has been updated through Week 11 so you can see where you stand!

Here’s The Good, The Bad & The Ugly:

  • THE GOODJOHN COOPER’s only skin of the night – a birdie on #6 – $200!
  • THE BAD: Team #12
  • THE UGLY: Coot’s Cubbies are in da cellar again.

The closest-to-the-pin honors went to MATT GAGNEPAIN & BRUCE THOMAS.  Low-net-scores were carded by GARRY BYRD (30/38) & RON SUDA (30/41).  JOJO SONDERMAN had the low round of the night with this 37.
