There’s a New Sheriff in Town – Week 3 Recap

In between storm fronts, Coot’s guys got to tackle the track at Tapawingo National that is considered to be the most challenging of the 3 options there: “PRAIRIE”.

And…the scores ballooned…

There were just 2 sub-40 rounds shot on the night by: JIM JOST III (38) and BRUCE THOMAS (39).  Low net scores were carded by CRAIG MORRIS (28/43) and ROB GAYLORD (30/44).  Let’s just say, it might be a good thing that the Prairie course is on the schedule just 2 more times (next week being one of them, however).

Despite the challenging course, it was a career night for JIM JOST III.  Along with his 38, he grabbed one of the closest-to-the-pin honors on the night and the only skin of the night!  JIM ROESCH got the other closest-to on the night.  On the Milestone Watch, only CHRIS TUREK made progress by earning career victory #199.

But…3 weeks in…there’s a new sheriff in town in the standings – POW!

K.G. ELECTRIC, INC. (Team 8) cashed in 9 points and pole vaulted into first place with a whopping 5 point lead over the new second place team, KENRICK’S MEATS (Team 3).

The biggest plunge in the standings was experienced by HEYL FARMS (Team 7) who went from 7th place down to 11th place, just a half-point ahead of the lonely Team #12, PAUL THE PAINTER.

Week 4 Match of the Week will feature KENRICK’S MEATS against G & G SNOW PLOW (Team 9) who are currently #2 & #3 in the standings, separated by just 1 point.  With K.G. ELECTRIC, INC. putting a little padding in their new lead on Week 3, this battle between second and third place is more important than normal this early in the season.
