The skies were threatening most of the day but the conditions turned out to be rather pleasant for Week 17 action on the Woodlands course at Tapawingo National.
And there was a lot of action!
While the top 3 spots in the standings didn’t change, K.G. ELECTRIC, INC. did get 7.5 points over METRO ELECTRIC; they are now just 3.5 points off the top spot with 2 weeks of scoring remaining! The teams in the top half of the standings are starting to pull away from the bottom half. Places 1 through 5 are separated by only 10 points with the rest of the league lagging behind that.
The match of the century pitted BRUCE THOMAS against DENNIS BOWERS as Bruce stopped Dennis’s personal win streak at 6 wins. Dennis does lead the league, however, with 14 wins on that season (14-2-0).
SOUTHSIDE MACHINE got all 10 points on the night to leap frog into a tie for 4th place and just 10 points out of first place.
On the individual front, 3 guys had low scratch scores on the night; TIM GARDNER, NICK KAUSCH, and DAVE SCHWEITZER all carded a 36. However, no one recorded a low-net-score in the 20’s on the evening.
There was some movement on the Milestone Watch too. BOB TWITCHELL got a win on the night to become just the 14th player in league history to join the 150 Win Club!
CONGRATULATIONS BOB!
The infamous recap:
- THE GOOD: the conditions!
- THE BAD: GEORGE ERMOLD…a year older!
- THE UGLY: the fire! Call 911!
