Happy Birthday Big Mike – Week 14 Recap

The last scheduled Wednesday of the year featured the Woodlands and a celebration for everyone’s favorite restauranteur, Big MIKE MCMANUS (featured photo credit)!

It was fitting to be celebrating his birthday given that JOEY B’S got all 10 points to pole vault over everyone else and land in first place. Helping to make that happen was MARK LANFERSIECK who had the low net score on the night (29/45) and one of the closest-to-the-pin honors (TIM GARDNER had the other).  And…to top it all off for JOEY B’S…team member GEORGE ERMOLD announced he’s out for the year due to “foot surgery”.

Four different guys had low scratch scores, all with a 38: BOB DEGUNIA, LARRY MOELLERING, NICK KAUSCH, and JOHN COOPER.

The other major achievement was completed by ERIC POHRER who got his 150th career victory to become the 17th such player in Coot history.

CONGRATULATIONS ERIC!

Let’s see if Team #2, K.G. ELECTRIC, INC., can cool down the red hot Team #11, JOEY B’S, in the match of the week for Week 15.

  • THE GOOD: To see Big Mike out playing!
  • THE BAD: CD LONGO & TIM GARDNER, $100 a hole.
  • THE UGLY: ELLIOT KITE in the Champ Flight at the Lake.

LAKE PAIRINGS WILL BE OUT THIS THURSDAY (SHOULD BE).”
