It was a typical summer night on the Meramec course. Not typical, though, was the career night by DAVE HARTE that propelled his team to a 10-point sweep over PAUL THE PAINTER. He took both the low scratch and low net honors on the night with his even-par-36 (28). Oh yea! He also took the only skin of the night with his birdie on #4.
That sweep by C.E.S. is what led to the only movement in the standings on the night. C.E.S. jumped from last place to 10th place and EVERY.OTHER.TEAM. stayed in the same spot in the standings as they entered the night with. As we round the corner to the final quarter of the 2018 season, there are only 15 points separating the top spot from the bottom spot and 9 teams with a legit shot at the second half championship at this point.
Ol’ Abner never gets ol’ as the match of the week for Week 16 will be between First Place, JOEY B’S, and Second Place, SOUTHSIDE MACHINE; this match-up could very well determine the second half winners (or come into play in a Position Round tiebreaker).
Quick Hits: BRUCE THOMAS and NICK KAUSCH got the closest-to-the-pin honors on the night. GARRY BYRD and DENNIS BOWERS got another win on their march toward a milestone. MARK LANFERSIECK and JUGGIE HINDUJA keep sandbaggin’; MATT TUREK keeps winnin’; DOUG WERNER keeps losin’…the year-end awards are coming up soon!

It was brought to Coot’s attention that we need to not forget about the Course Rules at Tapawingo National regarding golf carts.
Having mid-summer conditions, we need to remind ourselves to stay out of the rough with the carts. Once in the fairways, 90-degree in & 90-degree out of said fairway. And, absolutely stay OFF the tee blocks with your carts!
