As Anticipated As The Masters – Week 1 Recap

It was windy and 75-degrees on The Meramec course – a perfect day for OPENING DAY 2019! And, after a snowy, St. Louis winter, the start of Coot’s 33rd season was as anticipated as The Masters!

SOUTHSIDE MACHINE comes into 2019 as the defending champs and, therefore, Team #1. They were able to grab 7 points on the night and are just 2 points behind THE TUREK BROTHERS (Team 2) who got 9 points to take the top spot in the standings after the first week. JOEY B’S (Team 7) got 8 points and are in second place in the early race.

It’ll likely take a couple of weeks for Coot’s guys to knock the rust off as there were only 4 sub-40 rounds on Week 1. Leading the way was the now #1 golfer in the league, NICK KAUSCH with his 3-under 33. The other sub-40 rounds: JIM JOST (39), RICK BRENNAN (38), & BRUCE THOMAS (38).

The low-net-score of the night was carded by CHRIS TOCKSTEIN with his 47 (31). Closest-to-the-pin honors were earned by CHAD LARKOWSKI and PAUL HILLYARD.

We already have a fun matchup to watch on the second night of play as the first place team, THE TUREK BROTHERS (Team 2), will take on the second place team, JOEY B’S (Team 7).
