It was about as typical of a STL summer day as possible. Humid, 90 degrees, a 15-minute downpour with the sun out the whole time. Coot’s guys got to tackle the Meramec course for their second round of golf of the week after Week 8’s makeup on Monday.
And, WOW, there were more storylines than the movie “Tin Cup”
Let’s start with the straight up body slam of HAEGELE NURSERY by THE TUREK BROTHERS who took all 10 points in their match. That leaves KENRICK’S MEATS just 1.5 points out, going into Week 11’s Position Round. Speaking of the Position Round, here are the match-ups for next week:
2v11 | 13v4 | 10v8 | 9v12 | 14v1 | 7v3 | 5v6
Another storyline on the night was the 13 sub-40 rounds and another 8 at 40! Leading the way was DAVE SCHWEITZER with the low scratch score of the night (35). RYAN VAN DILLEN carded the low net score of the night (26/39), making up for that famous “pic” a couple weeks ago on #1.
GARRY BYRD had another Daily Double with a skin and a closest to (GREG GILLICK had the other one on the night). Rumor is, though, that he shouldn’t get paid until he gets a win. He’s now 0-8-0 and has a strong hold on the “Sey Tuff Guy” Award.
THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE UGLY:
THE GOOD: Overall stroke average on the night was 42.9, 2.1 strokes better than the season’s previous low.
THE BAD: Season’s half over.
THE UGLY: The renaming of “Smash Dave” to “Gummy Dave“.
“DID ANYONE TELL JOHN DAVIS ABOUT THE 0-FER?”
