The Tightest Race In History – Week 19 Recap

Coot’s guys finally got some relief with a near-perfect of weather. Week 19 happened on the Meramec with temps in the low-80s, overcast skies, and a nice breeze. Even better than the weather, though, it seemed as though most Cooters survived the “Lake Hangover”. The result?

THE TIGHTEST RACE IN COOT BROWN HISTORY!

There are just 4 point separating the top 7 teams. In fact, could last year’s champ be in line to repeat? There are just 2 weeks left of scoring, and DOWN THE STRETCH WE GO, head to head!

The low scratch score of the night was JOE SONDERMAN‘S 37; the low net score was TY SPAETH‘S 25 (38). BRUCE THOMAS is a win closer to a milestone and TIM JOST threw his name in the hat for the Best Record as we near the end of the season. Meanwhile, JOHNY MEYER and NICK KAUSCH JR. had the closest to prizes on the night.

It was a tough night to get the guys to the course. Due to there being a need for more subs than were available to play, history was made on Week 19. The third generation of Gardner, and the youngest to ever play in the league (14), MATT GARDNER made his Coot debut! He shot a 42, got the W, and a skin on #4…then wasted no time ordering food on CHRIS TOCKSTEIN‘S tab on the 19th hole to celebrate.

That feeling when you get your first win and a skin while being the youngest player to make his Coot debut!

THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE UGLY:
THE GOOD: To see GARY WILLIAMS back at it since is operation!
THE BAD: Team #9 not getting a point to go from 3rd to 8th place.
THE UGLY: # of Cooters (max-10) on the score cards…6!

“Position Round in 2 weeks!”
