After Week 3 got postponed last week (don’t forget, Week 3 will be made up on TUESDAY, May 7th), Coot’s guys were greeted with 65-degree temps, overcast skies, and a little breeze – all for play on the Meramec. Turns out, that was a perfect set up for lots of movement in the standings!
HEYL FARMS jumped up to First Place while METRO ELECTRIC snatched all 10 points to get to 4th Place, just 4 points out of the top spot.
It was a good night for Cooters individually too! 11 golfers carded under-40 scores. One was an even-par-36 by ALEX DAVIS and another was the 1-under-par-35 by DAVE “SMASH BURGER” “GUMMIE BOY” SCHWEITZER (the low scratch score on the night). The low net score was TIM SARGENT‘s 26 (43).
At 43.6, Week 4 was the lowest league stroke average of the young 38th season.
The Match Up of the Week for Week 5 will feature HEYL FARMS (first place) vs. JOEY B’S (last place). Given that they’re already 15 points out of first, Team #8 could put the nail in the Team 13’s coffin even this early in the season.
The closest to the pin winners were a little unique this week. TIM GARDNER won one of the prizes. But, the other came down to a measuring tape-confirmed tie on #6 between BOB DEGUNIA & ELLIOT KITE.
THE GOOD, THE BAD, & THE UGLY
THE GOOD: The non-stormy conditions.
THE BAD: The amount of 4 putts on hole #3.
THE UGLY: “Slow Play”.
FYI: starting next week, bunkers are in play (rake & place).
“For the first time in Coot history, we have a second carryover on skins – $525+ next Thursday!”
