It didn’t look good for Coot’s guys in the early part of the day with more rain falling all around the St. Louis area. But by the time Coot’s tee times arrived, it was 75 degree with overcast skies and the rain clouds moved out…but it was still wet on the Woodlands!
There was little movement on the top 4 teams in the standings and that has last year’s runner up, C.E.S., featured at the top, a third of the way through the season. Those top 4 teams are starting to distance themselves from the rest of the field with 24 points now separating first and last place.
There were 5 Cooters with low scratch scores on the night at 39. JEFF GAVIN had the low net score with his 40, net-28. RICK BRENNAN and TOM SIMON earned to closest to prizes on the night.
Also, RAY GILLICK, JR. became the 11th member of the 200 Victory Club with his win on the night.
CONGRATULATIONS RAY!
A third of the way through the season gives us a good idea of the frontrunners for the annual awards. TIM SARGENT has a commanding hold on the Sandbagger Award with his 5 stroke improvement on his handicap. Not surprising, therefore, he’s also holding the Best Record with is perfect 6-0-0 (1.000) record.
GEORGE ERMOLD, on the other hand, is off to a “tuff” start with his 0-5-0 (.000) record giving him Sey Tuff Guy aspirations.
THE GOOD, THE BAD, & THE UGLY
THE GOOD: Able to play on a rainy day.
THE BAD: Cart path only.
THE UGLY: The 100 yard 33 from the Blues…75 yards from the Whites.
“LOOK FOR LAKE INFO SOON. 30 YEAR CELEBRATION!”
