Tapawingo Threw A Slider – Week 18 Recap

Resort weather greeted Coot Brown on the Woodlands at Tapawingo this week.  75 degrees and overcast — a perfect day for scoring.

Despite perfect conditions for scoring, Tapawingo threw Cooters a slider.  After 2 weeks of unrelenting heat, they decided to core aerate the entire Woodlands course, leaving holes all over the greens that were shaggy at best.

So much for a perfect scoring opportunity.

The top 2 teams THE TUREK BROTHERS and METRO ELECTRIC split their 10 points right down the middle and gave everyone a chance to get back into the race for the 2nd half title.  Unfortunately, the 2 teams behind them got a total of 4 points combined, blowing a golden opportunity.

In our final tune up for the legendary Lake tournament, the match of the week for the Week 6 make-up make-up features GILLICK BRICKWORK against THE TUREK BROTHERS, with the top spot on the line.

The conditions didn’t prevent JOHN DAVIS from becoming the 34th member of the 150 Win Club!

Low Scratch round of the night belonged to JASON GILLICK with a 35 and the low net score of the night was carded by PAUL HILLYARD with a net 26.

DENNIS BOWERS, DAVE SCHWEITZER, and MIKE O’KANE grabbed the closest to prizes.

Despite (or because of) the aeration, there were 3 skins on the night on holes 1, 4 and 5. Hopefully there was enough cash from the non-carryover pot to cover some drinks!
