For the first time in 2012, Coot’s guys were greeted with sub-par weather in their quests for sub-par golf scores. It was a brisk 65-degrees with strong winds and on-again, off-again rain falling. But, the weather held off just enough to get in Week 8 on the front-9.
And that was good news for Coot’s guys who turned in scores that were hotter than the temps. Only 2 scores were turned in over 50 (Marty Yanics & Steve Miniex) and even 1 score came in at 1-under-par (Dave Schweitzer).
Low-net scores were turned in by Craig Aldridge, Ed Williams, and Kevin Gardner who all shot a 29.
The great scoring led Bob DeGunia to his 100th career victory to join that elite Milestone Club!
CONGRATULATIONS BOB DEGUNIA!
But…yet another week went by without a change in the top spot of the standings. In fact, Metro Electric (Team #1) extended their lead to 2 points. This was despite the fact that the top 3 teams struggled to muster any victory points on the week. And now, that means the bottom half of the standings are within 10 points of the top spot with just 1 more week until the position round during Week 10.
THE GOOD – Greg Gawrys’ only skin of the night with his birdie on #9.
THE BAD – As in good to see Craig Aldridge back – getting closest to on #3 & shooting a cool 45!
THE UGLY – Ray Gillick…60…’nuff said… (see pictures of the celebration on Coot’s Facebook page)
Feature match-up of Week 9: Mead Electric in their attempt to slow down Metro Electric as they steamroll their way to a first half, wire-to-wire championship!
