Like Kissing Your Sister – Week 12 Recap

It was as hot as it gets – 104°.  Record heat that resulted in a record weird night of golf for Coot’s 12th week of the 26th season.

There were a record 8 matches that ended in ties.  That bested, by 1, the number of matches that resulted in a win or loss (7).  Kevin Oliver fit right in with his 5th tie of the season (helping him for a share of this week’s “Best Record” title).

But all the ties didn’t keep the guys from shooting some great golf.  There were only 3 scores of 50 or more (Jim Markus-50, Jim Pleimann-55 & Craig Aldridge-55).  Meanwhile, 10 different guys turned in scores of 40 & under.  Leading the charge of the low-scores was Dave Schweitzer & his even-par-36.

The low-net-score of the night was turned in by Chris Caruso with his 29.  Chris also earned one of the closest-to-the-pin honors while Kevin Oliver got the other.

Mead Electric extended their second-half lead in the standings with a 9-point victory over last place Heyl Farms.

THE GOOD – The scheduled week off for the July 4th holiday came at a perfect time as temperatures should finally be back to normal in time for week 13.
THE BAD – Schweitzer not getting in his usual $5 in skins…See “The Ugly”
THE UGLY – Dave‘s birdie on #8 would have netted him $185 – THAT’S A LOT OF SMASH BURGERS!

COOT SAYS: “Carry over in skins for the first time in 4 years…BIG $$$$$$$$”.

There was no action on the Milestone Watch this week.  Updated Match Play brackets are available now.

We are only a couple weeks away from Coot’s Summer Social at Fairmount Race Track – get your tickets today!
