Match Play Challenge

Welcome to the 25th Anniversary edition of Coot’s Match Play challenge!

Championship Round: the Championship Match-ups are set – good luck to all golfers!

Round 1 Recap: Saturday, April 23

The temps were in the cool, mid-50s range and rain was falling on and off. But, all-in-all it was a great day as the storms going through the STL area the day before had finished up in time for 2011 Match Play to begin on time.

Out of the 28 matches on the docket for April 23rd, thirteen ended up being upsets. There was a lot of great scoring and a lot of knee knocking over some great putting!

Despite his first-round loss to good buddy, Nick Kausch, George Ermold managed to pick up 2 greenies totaling $100.
The brackets have been updated – good luck to all golfers in round 2!

Listed below are the brackets for each flight of this year’s events. The brackets are subject to change so be sure to check the site often.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Number in yellow next to a name is the handicap for that match
  • “Coot Rules” apply to all matches
  • Each match will consist of 18 holes
  • Ties will be determined on the 19th hole (for as many sudden-death holes necessary)
  • Golfers that advance to the next round will need to play their match by the end of the next month
