Week 9, Front 9 – Week 9 Recap

2013-week-9-bourbon-st-louis-new-orleansCoot’s guys finally were greeted, with open arms, by the much-forgiving-front-9 at Quail Creek on Week 9.  After a few weeks of wet conditions and the troublesome-back-9, the front-9 was a sight for sore & weary eyes.

And the scores showed the guys’ excitement!

Career rounds were had by a couple of guys:

Tim Sargent shot a net-24*
Kevin Oliver shot a net-26
Matt Gagnepain shot a net-27
Mark Balven shot a net-28

*Tim tied the league record for low-net-score with his 24!

Matt Gagnepain not only had a stellar score on the night, but he also joined Tim Overby as the closest-to-the-pin winners on the night.  Meanwhile, Jim Roesch had the only skin on the night with his birdie on #8!

The Good – FRONT 9…finally
The Bad – Haegele Nursery (Team 10) with a Goose Egg…0 points on the night.
The Ugly – G & G Snow Plow (Team 9) is still in the cellar…wire-to-wire…half-point to get out…Good Luck!

On the Milestone Watch, Greg Gillick got career-victory #148 with his win on the night.  But, Bob Haegele joined a less-elite club; with his loss on the night, he is now a member of the infamous 100 LOSS CLUB.

Bob’s loss contributed to the biggest upset of the night as Paul the Painter (Team 11) swept Haegele NurseryPaul the Painter was in eleventh place going into the night and Haegele Nursery was in second.  While the sweep of all 10 points only moved Team 11 up one spot in the standings, it moved Team 10 down to fourth, laying a tougher road to travel to a first half title.

Two spots remained the same in the standings though: the top & the bottom.  AALCO MFG. (Team 8) got six more points on the night to maintain their death-grip on the top spot (by 2 points).  G & G Snow Plow also got six more points on the night but still remain firmly in the league’s bottom spot, even if only by a half-point.

Position round match ups for Week 10 are as follows:

  • 8 vs. 1
  • 5 vs. 10
  • 4 vs. 7
  • 6 vs. 3
  • 12 vs. 11
  • 2 vs. 9
