On August 28th, two teams will compete to be crown Champions of the Coot Brown Golf League for 2014. The first of those two teams was decided on Week 10! While they got only 3.5 points on the night, it didn’t matter as they only needed 1 point to win the first-half honors. Drum roll please……..
CONGRATULATIONS HEYL FARMS – FIRST-HALF CHAMPS!
The rest of the standings remained mostly unchanged excepts for positions fourth through seventh as those teams all shuffled around to end the first-half. But, remember, everyone starts at ZERO on Week 11 and there’s room on the August 28th dance card for just one more participant!
As is a Coot Brown tradition, Week 10 Position Round is a $10 skin night; and that meant big bucks for a couple of Cooters as there ended up being only two skins on the night! GREG GILLICK nabbed a skin and earned the Daily Double by nailing the closest-to-the-pin on #3. The other skin went to GEORGE ERMOLD for #6 & JUGGIE HINDUJA got the other closest-to on #8.
There was no activity on the Milestone Watch for the night. Here’s an update, though, on the progress for the awards to be handed out at the end of the year:
- Sandbagger Award – GARY PADBERG (-3)
- PLEASE NOTE: there was a typo on the sign printed for the week that lists Gary’s improvement by only 2 strokes; it is indeed 3 strokes.
- Best Record Award – LARRY MOELLERING (6-1-0 – .857)
- “Sey Tuff Guy” Award – GARY SCHMIDT (0-6-0 – .000)
Congrats to the Cooters who took home cash for the US Open Coot Challenge: MIKE WAMSER ($400), RAY GILLICK ($100) & BOB DEGUNIA ($50). Next up: British Open!
