Almost on #3 – Week 11 Recap

this-closeStormy weather passed through the area throughout the day on Thursday, June 30th.  But, when it was time to tee off on Week 11, Coot’s guys were left with PERFECT conditions to kick off the second half of the 30th season.

It was 80-degrees with low humidity and a slight breeze…nice conditions for some nice shooting.  Including 5 guys shooting sub-40 rounds; led by DAVE SCHWEITZER‘S 1-under-par-35.

Unfortunately, though, RON SCHMITT got his first loss of the season and no longer has a hold on the Best Record Award, despite his 8-1-0 record.  RUSS KLEVORN took over with his 5-0-2 (1.000) record for the time being.

Don’t worry…JUGGIE HINDUJA solidified his position for the Sey Tuff Guy Award by getting his 5th loss of the season.  He’s the only guy without a win with at least 5 rounds played.

C.E.S. & HAEGELE NURSERY came flying out of the gates on the second half by taking all 10 points on the night and shooting to the top spot(s) in the standings and a 2.5 point lead over K.G. ELECTRIC, INC.

Everyone moved around in the standings on the first week of the new half…except for “Coot’s Cubbies”, PAUL THE PAINTER, who got zero points on the night so stayed in last place.

A couple of Coot oddities on the night on Hole #3 as we almost had multiple holes-in-one.  CHRIS POHRER took one off the stick and ended up just 3-feet away, good for one of the closest-to-the-pins on the night (ADAM LAURY nabbed the other one).

The other guys that were close to a hole-in-one after teeing off on #3 were DAVE HEGGER & JIM PLEIMANN who ended up within feet of the hole!  Wait…it was the wrong hole though!  They both landed on the 7th green (not qualifying for closest-to honors)…

ROLAND LAURY & BOB HAEGELE each got a win on the night to move to within just 1 win of their respective milestones on the Milestone Watch.  ED WILILAMS is now just 4 wins away.  JEFF POHRER didn’t play…so no 250-Win Club yet.
