On the eve of the 22nd Annual Lake Ozark Golf Classic, Coot’s guys were, let’s just say, not locked in.
Individually, there were certainly some accomplishments. MIKE O’KANE carded an even-par-36 and JOE TUREK JR. carded the low-net-score of the night with his 29 (42).
MATT JOST & JOE SONDERMAN earned the closest-to-the-pin honors of the night. On the milestone watch, JOE SONDERMAN got #96 and now stands just 4 wins away from the coveted 100 Win Club.
The big news in individual accomplishments, though, was for ROLAND LAURY. With his win on the night, he became the 4th guy in 2016 and the 12th guy in league history to earn 150 career victories!
CONGRATULATIONS ROLAND!
BRUCE THOMAS hit #150 of a different kind…as in, career losses. Despite being consistently the #1 or #2 golfer in the league (currently, he’s #2), he is now the 11th guy in league history to reach 150 losses…the struggle of a handicapped league.
On the team front, there was almost NO action in the standings. In fact, only 5 teams moved at all in the standings. JOEY B’S stole all 10 points from AALCO MFG. to leap-frog into first place with just a couple scoring weeks left. They’re well-positioned to be the first team to win both the first and second half titles en route to the league title since METRO ELECTRIC did it several years ago.
That’s about all we can give for a recap…the rest is a blur, thanks to the Lake Tourney hangover…
The feature match of the week for Week 18 is Team #2 (HEYL FARMS) vs. Team #12 (BROTHER JOHN). There’s just 1 point separating the teams who are just 3.5 & 4.5 points out of first place, respectively.
