Where’s Coot? – Week 5 Recap

In a season that is highlighted by being the first at a new course, Week 5 featured another first in Coot history: golf on a WEDNESDAY!

First and foremost, we appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as we shifted to a Wednesday night and a make-shift 9-hole course due to the recent flooding at Tapawingo National.  And Coot’s guys were rewarded with a beautiful day for golf on a Wednesday.

Who knows what the temperature was…but, it was 85 degrees in Boca Raton…that we do know.

There were a few changes in the standings with a shakeup at the second, third and fourth spots.  But, K.G. ELECTRIC, INC. grabbed 7 points on the night and not only kept their hold on first place but extended their lead to 6.5 points.

PAUL THE PAINTER crawled out last place to take a 1-point lead over the new tenant in that spot: SOUTHSIDE MACHINE.  While the top 5 spots in the standings are separated only by a 1-week-earnable 10 points, the distance between #1 & #12 is a lot larger as we turn the quarter point of the season.

All that action does set up nicely for the match of the week going into Week 6 (don’t forget the adjusted schedule…WEDNESDAY, MAY 17 will be Week 6) featuring K.G. ELECTRIC, INC. taking on the 3rd place team, KENRICK’S MEATS.

JEFF POHRER & RUSS KLEVORN got the closest-to-the-pin honors on the makeshift-9.  And low rounds were carded by:

  • BRUCE THOMAS (35)
  • NICK KAUSCH (36)
  • JEFF LAURY (38)
  • RUSS KLEVORN (38)

The low net score of the night was turned in by RYAN VAN DILLEN (42/27).

There’s not much else to say since Coot was out of town and can’t provide much more information.  But, we have our first entries into the weekly update for the end of season awards:

Coot will see you all for the second Wednesday in Coot history on Wednesday, May 17, 2017!

“LET’S DO WEDNESDAY AGAIN!”
