Coot’s guys took on the Woodlands course at Tapawingo National for the second week in a row in 80-degree/muggy/no wind conditions.
And they brought that course to her knees.
There were seven sub-40 rounds and two rounds right at 40. Leading the way was JOE SONDERMAN and his even-par-36. Low-net-scores were carded by MARTY YANICS (28/45) and CHRIS CARUSO (28/41).
ED WILLIAMS joined in on the fun by getting career victory #149. Meanwhile, MARTY YANICS and RON SUDA took home the closest-to-the-pin awards on the night.
In the standings, the top 4 teams managed a split, causing no movement in that portion of the standings. All other spots saw some movement (except eleventh place…still occupied by PAUL THE PAINTER); HEYL FARMS made the biggest jump from ninth place to fifth place with a 10-point sweep of the night. They’re now just nine points out of the coveted top spot with only a couple weeks left in the first half.
There was a lot to see on Week 8…but…here’s The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly:
- THE GOOD: RAY GILLICK’s 65th birthday…hittin’ from the forward tees now!
- THE BAD: as in good…DENNIS BOWERS extended his winning streak to 7 and is now 7-0-0 (1.000)!
- THE UGLY: Someone forgot to set out the closest-to marker on #6!
