Week 18 was near-perfect with low humidity and 85-degrees on the Prairie Course; setting the stage up for some action that made the standings tighter than a virgin on her wedding night heading into the Position Round for Week 19!
G & G SNOW PLOW got 9 points over METRO ELECTRIC to jump into the top spot on the leader board. The two teams flipped spots with Team #9 going into the Position Round in first place and Team #5 in third place.
Meanwhile, K.G. ELECTRIC, INC. still has a chance to take home both halves and the 31st league championship after they got 5 points to maintain their hold on second place.
Ultimately, the Position Round festivities of Week 19 will be extra fun next week on Thursday, August 17th as there are 5 teams within 3.5 points or less and striking distance of the 2nd half championship.
Here are the match ups for the Position Round:
- 9 v 8
- 5 v 7
- 10 v 2
- 12 v 3
- 6 v 11
- 4 v 1
On the personal front, the low-scratch score of the night was carded by BRUCE THOMAS (who has the second most wins in the league this season with 12) and his even-par-36. The only other sub-40 round was GARRY WILLIAMS with a 39 (net-30).
On the Milestone Watch, LARRY MOELLERING got #146 & ERIC POHRER got #148. There were no changes in the weekly update for the year-end award recipients…meaning…someone is going to have to break the “Sandbagger Award” log jam on August 17th.
It wasn’t all perfect; here’s the quick rundown:
- THE GOOD: DAVE HEGGER carding 3 birdies – 1 good for the only skin of the night!
- THE BAD: …as in good…DAVE collecting closest-to-the-pin honors for the second week in a row (MIKE O’KANE had the other)!
- THE UGLY: Next week’s Week 19 play on Thursday night will be the last skin night of the season – $10.00!
