A Tradition Like No Other…Opening Day 2018 – Week 1 Recap

What a day to start of the 2018 season of the Coot Brown Golf League!  Coot’s guys were greeted for Opening Day by 77-degree temperatures, sunny skies, and windy conditions.

The first week of the 32nd season featured The Meramec “9”…and a lot of rust needing to be removed…and some levitated scores…you get it!

One Cooter, though, did turn in a good card for the night:  GARRY BYRD had the low scratch score (36) of the night and the low net score (26) of the night.  WOW!

The first edition of The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly:

  • THE GOOD: Back to the basics: friends, drinks, & pizza!
  • THE BAD: The bunker play! Sand!
  • THE UGLY: BRUCE carding a “10” on #6

Even better than “The Good” was the surprise visit from ED WILLIAMS – it was great to see that old Cooter for sure!

Team 8, KENRICK’S MEATS, came flying out of the gates by taking all 10 points from Team 2, K.G. ELECTRIC, INC. – still a long way to go though in our new, 22-week season!

“21 more weeks of the best freakin’ male bonding anywhere!”
