Taming the Meramec – Week 2 Recap

In what has been one of the strangest STL springs in a very long time, Coot’s guys have lucked out with 2 good weeks for golf.  It was a slightly-chilly, 50-degree afternoon; but, the sun was out and it was a little breezy for a second-straight week on the Meramec 9.  And, after two straight weeks on that track, the guys are starting to tame her.

Here’s a recap of the great shooting of Week 2:

  • Low Rounds:
    • NICK KAUSCH – 36
    • DAVE SCHWEITZER – 36
    • JOE SONDERMAN – 37
  • Low Nets:
    • ELLIOTT KITE – 29 (39)
    • ROB GAYLORD – 29 (40)

Additionally, there were two eagles on the night by NICK KAUSCH (2 on #1) and ADAM LAURY (3 on #9).  ROB GAYLORD and BOB DEGUNIA brought home the two closest-to-the-pin honors on the night.

Meanwhile, there was a little activity on the Milestone Watch as well.  MATT TUREK got #146 after being added to the watchlist last week with #145.  RICK BRENNAN earned a spot on the list with his 95th career victory.

So, it was a great night of golf, as to be expected as the new season excitement is still high.  Here’s a look back at The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly:

  • THE GOOD – Still having 20 more weeks of golf!
  • THE BAD – Weather conditions (over?)
  • THE UGLY – Finding out BRUCE’s 10 last week was on a Par 3.

Don’t miss the feature match of the week for Week 3 when JOEY B’s (Team 11) will look to knock C.E.S. (Team 4) out of the top spot in the early-season standings.
