Sunny, 90-degree, the Woodlands, a Wednesday night! With the Lake Tourney information being available, the party is already starting to rev up! The 19th Hole was a buzz…and playing on a Wednesday made for even more party-like activities (our own oddities, of course).
On the individual front, Coot’s guys were firing on all cylinders on this Wednesday night special. JOE JOE SONDERMAN was within inches of an ace (and the $430 kitty). But, he didn’t stop there. He brought home one of the closest-to-the-pin honors (JIM JOST III got the other).
There were 7 sub-40 rounds and 4 even-40 rounds carded on the night. GARY WILLIAMS is off to a good start in his apparent efforts to bring home the “Sey Tuff Guy” Award on the season; he’s now 0-6-0 (0.000) on the 2018 season.
He had the unfortunate luck of facing JIM PLEIMANN…wait…Jim “The Concrete Guy”…who was lights out on the night. JIM turned in a 41 for a net-22 – meaning, he’s now the new record holder for low-net-score…just one week after DAN BERSETT set the record!
Meanwhile, for the second-straight week, we have a new member of the 150 Win Club. MATT TUREK joined the elite group with his win on the night. Additionally, RICK BRENNAN got career-win #100 to join the 100 Win Club!
CONGRATULATIONS MATT & RICK!
DENNIS BOWERS got his 145th career victory to earn himself a spot on The Watch.
But, back to the standings hoopla…there were 2 foursomes that all tied their matches. That helped C.E.S. hang on to first place for yet another week. The first half is nearing the end so all points are precious at this point!
A quick review of The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly:
- THE GOOD: Eagle on #9 for STEVE MINIEX.
- THE BAD: On such a great night…there were none!
- THE UGLY: Oh…last time STEVE had an eagle, Reagan was president.
