More Good Shootin’ – Week 19 Recap

Coot’s guys were greeted with 90-degree temps & high humidity as they tackled the Meramec for Week 19.  Despite the muggy conditions, there was more good shootin’ to be had on the night.

Leading the way were two guys who carded even-par with a 36 on the track: “Smash” DAVE SCHWEITZER and “Say it ain’t so” JOE SONDERMAN.  Joe even collected the only skin of the night with a birdie on #1.

LARRY MOELLERING and TONY JOST nabbed the closest-to-the-pins on the night.  Meanwhile, DENNIS BOWERS, JOHN COOPER, & GARRY BYRD each got a little closer to their respective milestones with only 2 more weeks of possible wins to seal the deal in 2018.

DOUG WERNER didn’t lose…but, TIM SARGENT did.  He can join Doug in the running for the record for most losses in a single season (both sitting at 12, tied for the league record in futility).

With only 1 more week of scoring until the Position Round on Week 21, the standings are starting to get interesting.  Despite splitting 5 & 5 with HEYL FARMS, SOUTHSIDE MACHINE is still on top and is the big threat to win both halves for the League Championships.  If they do that, they’d be the first team to win both halves since BEAN & HEYL did it back in 2007!

Week 20 Match of the Week will be GILLICK BRICKWORK (Team #1) against HEYL FARMS (Team #7) – they are both tied for second place and just 3.5 points off the pace of SOUTHSIDE MACHINE.

Here’s a look at The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly from Week 19:

  • THE GOOD: JOE JOE’S idea of 2 extra weeks!
  • THE BAD: The Lake hangover.
  • THE UGLY: First place SOUTHSIDE MACHINE vs. last place PAUL THE PAINTER.
