It was the first heat index recorded on the 2019 season so Coot’s golfers were on the “modified 9” and got down to business on the night. There were 16 different golfers who recorded sub-40 rounds!
Leading the way was the newest contender for the “Sandbagger Award” (-4), BRAD GARLICH with his low scratch score of 33. That score also allowed him to shoot up in the player rankings from the 19th spot to the 2nd spot (also aided by the 34 he shot in week 3 that just got entered after weather-shortened play last week).
BOB DEGUNIA had the low net score on the night (36/26). GARY SCHMIDT inched a little closer to a milestone with win #149 and GARY WILLIAMS got added to the watch list with #145.
Closest-to honors were grabbed by CHRIS TUREK, BRUCE THOMAS, and TYLER SOLLBERGER (3 winners due to the Week 3 carryover).
Oh, and by the way, there’s a new sheriff in town, HAEGELE NURSERY (Team 6). After pounding on K.G. ELECTRIC, INC. (Team 10), HAEGELE NURSERY passed up SOUTHSIDE MACHINE (Team 1) to take over the top spot in the standings – the spot that the gear heads held since Week 1.
And, as fate would have it, next week’s schedule features Team 6 vs. Team 1 with just 4 weeks remaining in the half that seems to be a 2 horse race already.
