It was a San Diego-like day on the Woodlands course and the first time all year Coot’s guys were able to drive on the fairways. Basically, a near-perfect night for Week 8.
There was a ton of anticipation for the match of the week between SOUTHSIDE MACHINE & HAEGELE NURSERY and the feature did not disappoint. That battle ended 5 & 5 and led to lots of movement in the standings.
JOEY B’S went from sixth place to third place. On the heels of K.G. ELECTRIC, INC. sweeping THE TUREK BROTHERS, the bros dropped from third place to seventh place.
BRETT “The Secret Weapon” MINIEX had the low scratch score of the night with his even-par-36. Three guys carded a 29 for their low net score on the night: PAUL HILLYARD (41), BOB TWITCHELL (40), and GREG GILLICK (39).
CHAD LARKOWSKI and JEFF LAURY grabbed the closest-to-the-pin honors on the night and MIKE O’KANE won again. But, the real news on the individual front was GARY SCHMIDT becoming the 20th member of the 150 Win Club.

All that said, it still looks to be a 2 horse race in the standings. The match up of the week for Week 9 will pit Team #1 (SOUTHSIDE MACHINE) against Team #11 (METRO ELECTRIC).
DON’T FORGET: the next two weeks of golf are on Wednesdays – maybe we will see “DOC” for the first time!?!
