Who’ll Stop The Rain…And Southside Machine – Week 5 Recap

It was May 9th but felt a lot more like a late-October type of day with overcast skies and windy & cold conditions. The course is still soggy thanks to all the rain of late. In fact, Coot’s guys had to play partial holes on The Prairie and The Meramec courses to keep up with the flooding!

That didn’t slow down some great early-season scoring. Leading the way on the night was the low round turned in by DAVE SCHWEITZER (33). Right behind him were the low-net scores of the night turned in by RAY GILLICK (28/38), MIKE WAMSER (28/37), and MATT GAGNEPAIN (27/38).

But, as unstoppable as the early-season rain is SOUTHSIDE MACHINE. They got 8 points on the night to maintain their hot pace. That leads to the feature match of the week for Week 6: SOUTHSIDE MACHINE vs. GILLICK BRICKWORK…maybe the bricklayers can stop that gears of that locomotive!

NICK KASUCH had a closest-to-the-pin and LARRY MOELLERING had the other. Meanwhile, JIM “CHIPPY” PLEIMANN had another chip-in! There was more action on the Milestone Watch as GARY SCHMIDT won for the second week in a row to get #147. Not to be outdone, though, JOHN COOPER became the 19th guy (and the second in as many weeks) to join the exclusive 150 Win Club!

CONGRATULATIONS JOHN!

FYI – the next Coot outing, Week 6, is on WEDNESDAY, May 15th…the same night as the next Blues home game, Game 3 against San Jose. LET’S GO BLUES!

No, really, who’ll stop the rain?
