C.E.S. Wins 2020 Championship! – Week 22 Recap

For the first time in Coot history…Team #12 has won the championship…and, it just so happens that particular Team #12 is also a first-time champion (check out the updated “by the numbers” regarding championships)…C.E.S.!

CONGRATULATIONS C.E.S.!

Aside from an historic night for C.E.S., it was a big night all around. You had JOE SONDERMAN celebrating his 61st birthday with both closest-to-the-hole prizes on the night (one of them within 2-3″ of a hole in one), albeit without taking home the league title.

Another big moment on the night was ED WILLIAMS joining the 150 Win Club when he sank his put on #7. He is now the 25th member of that elite club.

CONGRATULATIONS ED!

After being Team #12 for 2020, C.E.S. will get to be Team #1, for the first time ever, in 2021. Here’s the lineup for the 35th season in 2021:

THE GOOD, THE BAD, & THE UGLY…

THE GOOD: First time winners: C.E.S.
THE BAD: HAEGELE NURSERY...runner up for 2nd year in a row
THE UGLY: BRUCE THOMAS throwing a club on #5

And so another season comes to an end. 34 seasons are in the books and #35 will be here before we know it! Be checking the website throughout the winter for updates as they’re available. As always, you can follow the Facebook page for Coot Sightings and other fun throughout the off season as well. Mark your calendars now for the annual Winter Meeting to take place on the Thursday after the Super Bowl, February 11, 2021, at Tapawingo National. The decision about the possible expansion to 14 teams will be made prior to the meeting.

Speaking of Tapawingo…A HUGE SHOUTOUT goes to the Boccardi Family and the staff at Tapawingo National for another terrific season! 2020 certainly had its challenges but Ray and his staff, as always, did a great job of making our 34th season amazing.
