Temps were near or in the 80s with full sunshine in the sky 4 out of 5 days of the post-Easter week of April. The one day without that weather? You guessed it, Coot’s opening day! It was a nasty day on the Meramec with windy, rainy, 52-degree conditions. But…NONE OF THAT MATTERED as the wait is finally over and the 35th season is finally underway.
With the normal opening day energy only heightened by 2021 expansion to 14 teams, Coot’s guys are already anxiously waiting for Week 2 to get here. It’s easy to understand why given the good shootin’ on Week 1, even in the poor conditions.
Leading the way was newbie, MATT HINES who carded an even-par-36 on his Coot debut. Low net scores were turned in by MARK LANFERSIECK (29/39) and TIM JOST (29/46). CD LONGO & ELLIOT KITE brought home the first expanded closest-to-the-pin kitties of the new season.
GREG GILLICK (#197) and JIM ROESCH (#96) each got another win closer to their respective milestones. If you haven’t checked yet, visit the home page to see the Milestone Watch that will be updated weekly.
THE GOOD, THE BAD, & THE UGLY:
THE GOOD: No rain out for Week 1!
THE BAD: None to report!
THE UGLY: Broken windshield?
“Nice job by the new members!”
