Week 8 happened in San Diego…err…Sunset Hills…77 degrees with a little breeze & low humidity. Chamber of Commerce day for sure.
The weather was similar to last week, but unlike last week, there was a lot of movement in the standings!
Two teams took all 10 points: K.G. ELECTRIC, INC. & THE TUREK BROTHERS. That puts Team #4 within 5 points of First Place in a 5-horse race. SOUTHSIDE MACHINE took over the top spot after taking 8 points from the previous top dog, TC & CO.
That sets up the match of the week for Week 9: SOUTHSIDE MACHINE against METRO ELECTRIC – first & last.
There was a lot of good scoring on the night as Coot’s guys carded a 43.8 stroke average, one of the best on the season. There were too many low net scores to list, with several guys shooting 31s & 32s. The low scratch score of the night was carded by JOHNY MEYER (36). MATT TUREK SR. and JOHN GREFFET had the closest to prizes on the night.
Coot’s guys are on the right track with just a couple of weeks of scoring left before the Position Round.
Meanwhile, the Milestone Watch was the place to be on Week 9. PAUL HILLYARD got within 1 of his milestone; BRUCE THOMAS is looking to join the Iron Man in the 275 Win Club; and JOHN GREFFET is just 5 away from being #9 with #200.
In case you’re wondering, a hole in one will take down $2,750 in 2023!
THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE UGLY:
THE GOOD: Eagle on #9 got JOHN COOPER the only skin of the night
THE BAD: “Ass” weather
THE UGLY: NUBBY & O’KANE match up?
“Many Cooters are headin’ west next week…subs will be needed!
