A Log Jam In The Standings – Week 13 Recap

How much can a breeze actually help when it’s 98 degrees out? Whew. Maybe that’s why the scores looked more like a round on the Woodlands than on the Prairie? In fact, the 46.2 league stroke average was the 3rd highest of the season and 1.3 strokes above the average going into Week 13, 44.9.

Maybe that’s why there was a lot of movement in the standings too? After all but 1 team (HAEGELE NURSERY stayed in 7th place) moved spots, there’s now a log jam with just 5 points separating the top spot from the 8th spot, and the top 10 teams all within 7 points of each other. But, for now, METRO ELECTRIC will enjoy their stay at the top of the table after getting 8 points to jump up from 4th place.

The low scratch score on the night was the 37, carded by 2 guys: CHRIS COLLINS & MIKE O’KANE. The low net score was TOM HEYL‘s 41 (30). Meanwhile, KEVIN TYLER and CORY NEWMAN got the closest to prizes on the night. In fact, KEVIN TYLER was thiiiiiiiiis close to taking home the Ace Jackpot on #2!

KEVIN TYLER was that close to taking home $2,750 (less the 19th Hole celebratory bar tab, of course)!

THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE UGLY:
THE GOOD: TYLER SPAETH, in his Coot debut, winning 1 of 3 skins for the carryover
THE BAD: Other 2 skins went to DOUG BIGGS & KEVIN TYLER for a total of $520
THE UGLY: Gummy Twins/AALCO MFG. – 2 points total after 2 weeks

“The ban on extra golf has been extended 1 more week.”
