2 Weeks Later – Week 2 Recap

golf-cartoon-losingAfter an early-season rain out, the rescheduled Week 2 ended up being an ideal night for golf!  A slight breeze and a comfortable 65-degrees greeted Coot’s guys for their play on the back-9.

But, despite the nice weather, the standings saw a little shuffling in the top-6 and NO shuffling in the bottom-6 (which is pretty uncommon this early in the season).

Joe Sonderman had the low-score of the night with his 38 & a victory in hand.  Meanwhile, low-net honors went to John Davis with his 41, net 32; which was good since he was still down from his Match Play Challenge loss.

Gary Gardner shot a 46 (net-32) to avenge his Week 1 blow-up.  That wasn’t the only thing involved in Gary’s big night; he nabbed the closest-to honor on 13 & 1 of the 5 skins earned on the night.  Jim Jost got the other closest-to honor.

THE GOOD – Rain-free round of golf!
THE BAD – 1 more week for the bowlers
THE UGLY – More rain in the forecast for Week 3.

Meanwhile, on the Milestone Watch, we have a new member of the 100-win club!  Congratulations to Herb Golterman who earned career-victory #100 during Week 2!

CONGRATULATIONS HERB!

The feature match-up of Week 4 will feature Southside Machine (Team 3) against G & G Snow Plow (Team 9).  If either of these 2 cellar-dwellers can get their hands on 10 points, they’ll be right back in the race.  However, if that does happen, the team earning the goose egg might as well start planning for the second half!

COOT SAYS: “Coot luck this week for Team #4 (C.E.S.)”

Reminder: updated league & team schedule is available on the schedule page!
