AWESOME WEATHER; awesome scores – it was “as easy as the front 9” on Week 12!
It was truly picture-perfect weather; the type not usually seen at this point in the season. The combination of great weather and playing on the front-9 at Quail led to some lights-out shooting on the course.
Leading the way was Joe Sonderman who was getting primed for the Lake Tourney by shooting a 1-under-par-35. That great score also earned him his 5th victory of the season, continuing his efforts towards winning the Best Record Award with his 5-0-1 (1.000) record through 12 weeks.
Six different guys shot sub-40 scores:
- Ed Williams
- George Ermold
- Jim Roesch
- Joe Sonderman
- Al Keller
- Bruce Thomas
While four guys hit the 40 mark:
- John Westrich
- Nick Kausch
- Chris Turek
- John Cooper
On top of that, four guys had low-net scores on the night:
- Chris Tockstein – 26 (45)
- Ed Williams – 27 (38)
- Jim Markus – 28 (44)
- Jim Jost – 29 (44)
Jeff Laury & Ed Williams got the closest-to-the-pin awards on the night and there was no action on the Milestone Watch.
The Good – Joe Joe got the only skin on the night with his birdie on #5!
The Bad – Bruce: 38 = LOSS
The Ugly – Al: 37 = LOSS
So, as you can see, the individuals in the league had a heckuva night. But, even hotter than the individuals is Quail Creek (Team 2) as they race toward a second-half title. They got another 9 points, extending their total to 19 points in Coot’s standings. That also increased the gap between first and second place to 5 points over The Turek Brothers (Team 5).
The Feature Match Up of Week 13 will be Paul the Painter (Team 11) vs. K.G. Electric, Inc. (Team 12) – yep! a battle for last…………
