Bruce Gets #250 – Week 6 Recap

The on & off showers, 80-degree temps, and play on The Meramec didn’t slow Coot’s guys down for Week 6 as Monday’s tough play turned into a feast on Thursday with some lights out golf!

A total of 13 guys carded sub-40 rounds on the night, including 3 right at 40.

JIM JOST III was 2 under with his 34 and jumped up into second place of the League Rankings. But, he was overshadowed by NICK KAUSCH who was 3 under with his 33. NICK also brought down one of the closest-to prizes of the night (JOHN WESTRICH had the other).

There were 5 other guys who shot a 37 and the low net score of the night was TOM HEYL‘S 24 (40).

The real highlight of the night was BRUCE THOMAS becoming only the second player in Coot history to earn 250 career victories (despite not being on the Milestone Watch as he should have been…sorry Bruce)!

Bruce got to this rare milestone faster than his fellow club member, JEFF POHRER. With #200 coming on 7/31/14 and #250 coming on 5/14/20, it took BRUCE just 2,115 days to accomplish the feat; it took JEFF 2,562 days (7/16/09-7/21/16).

The man, the myth, the legend…the newest member of the 250 Win Club!

CONGRATULATIONS BRUCE!

All that great shootin’ led to the standings tightening up a bit with 8 teams now within 8 points of first place. A perfect setup for the Match of the Week next Thursday between HAEGELE NURSERY (Team #2 in fourth place) and PAUL THE PAINTER (Team #3 in third place) with only a half-point between them.

THE GOOD, THE BAD, & THE UGLY…well, in reality, it was ALL GOOD!:

THE GOOD: Pizzas in the parking lot!
THE GOOD: Beer Card for the first time!
THE GOOD: NICK KAUSCH is hot hot hot!

“Stay tuned for Lake Tourney info…it’s all a go!”
