All Good on the Farm – Week 9 Recap

June Gloom has set in over the Midwest as Coot’s guys were greeted with overcast skies & temps in the upper 70s.  They were ideal Coot Conditions indeed…well, except for being on the dreaded back-9. But, that didn’t matter too much with skins being earned on #10 (KEVIN OLIVER), #11 (DAVE COOPER), #15 (ERIC POHRER) …

Week 9, Front 9 – Week 9 Recap

Coot’s guys finally were greeted, with open arms, by the much-forgiving-front-9 at Quail Creek on Week 9.  After a few weeks of wet conditions and the troublesome-back-9, the front-9 was a sight for sore & weary eyes. And the scores showed the guys’ excitement! Career rounds were had by a couple of guys: Tim Sargent …

All Good Things Come To An End – Week 19 Recap

It was warm, about 95-degrees; play was on the front 9, Coot’s favorite; play didn’t mean anything for the standings, Mead Electric already wrapped up the second-half title; but it sure was a dart game! Two different golfers turned in even-par scores of 36: George Ermold and Jeff Laury (Jeff also had the low-net-score of …

Another Coot First – Week 18 Recap

For just the second time this season, Coot’s guys were battling the weather conditions with rain, thunder, and lighting in the area.  But, that didn’t keep us from a Coot Brown first in the week…GAME ON! If you remember, it took an extra week to determine a winner of the first half.  Well, Mead Electric …

Coot’s 26th season just keeps rolling along.  There was some more great shooting on the front-9 during Week 13.  There were three guys who shot even par (36): Bruce Thomas, Joe Sonderman & Jim Jost III.  Jimmy III also got the low-net-score of the night (28). The great shooting earned Tim Sargent his 99th career victory …

We’re Gonna Need Another Week – Week 10 Recap

It started as a typical mid-season week.  Especially typical for 2012 with more nice temperatures and sunny skies as has become the custom for Coot’s 26th season.  Most guys showed up assuming that the close of the first half would close the same way as the previous 25 seasons – with a champion. But not …

Hot Temps, Hot Scores – Week 4 Recap

Week 4 was a breezy, 90-degree night.  This round of golf took place on the front 9 & it was a piece ‘o cake!  Russ Klevorn led the lights-out golfing with his 2-under-par-34. Russ was joined by 3 other guys for the low-net-score of the night, each with a 28.  Those guys were: Chris Caruso, …

Ditto, Not Ditto – Week 2 Recap

Week 2 brought more great weather: DITTO on the weather.  But, Week 2 also brought the infamous back-9: NOT DITTO on the scores! While the actual weather was perfect, it was a perfect storm of sorts that led to a slow night on the links.  With several high school matches on the course, Quail was …

A New League Record – Week 20 Recap

What a night for a new league record!  A perfect 85º, sunny, and a nice breeze: it was the best final night ever! Ed Williams and Nick Kausch earned closest-to-the-pin honors. But, of course, the real story was the match-up between Metro Electric and The “Z” Band for the 25th League Championship. Metro Electric …
